UPSC Combined Defence Services Examination invites applications for registration

Union Public Service Commission-Combined Defence Services Examination has released applications for admission. Register for the exam.

Candidates passing the combined defence services examination will be given admission to following courses:

Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala - 45
Air Force Academy, Hyderabad - 32
Officers Training Academy, Chennai - 175
Officers training academy - 12
Eligibility: Interested candidates can look for eligibility criteria in the official notification released by UPSC regarding the vacancies.
ExaminationThe paper will consist of following subjects:
English
General Knowledge
Elementary Mathematics including Arithmetic, Algebra, Trigonometry.
All sections will be of a duration of two hours with maximum of 100 marks each.
How to applyEligible candidates are required to apply online on the official website of UPSC, according to a prescribed format as mentioned in the recruitment notice.
Eligible candidates shall be issued an admit card three weeks before the starting of examination. The e-admit card will be made available on the UPSC website for downloading by the candidates.
No e-admit card will be sent by post. All the applicants are required to provide valid email ID while filling the applications. Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs 200 either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Hyderabad/Mysore/Patiala/Travancore by using Visa/ Master credit/ Debit card.

UPSC Central Armed Police Forces Examination 2014 forms out

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the Detailed Application Form (DAF) to be filled by the candidates applying for Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2014. The examination will be conducted for the purpose of filling vacancies of Assistant Commandants in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). The DAF for the same is given on the UPSC's website and can be filled till November 28, 2014.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
A candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree of a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.
Age Limit: A candidate must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years on the August 1, 2014 i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than August 2, 1989 and not later than August 1, 1994.
Selection Procedure:
Candidates will be selected on the basis of Written Examination, Physical and Medical Standard Tests or Personality / Interview Tests.
Candidates, who will be short-listed for Interview/Personality Test including those short-listed for Interview / Personality Test provisionally, will be asked to fill up On line Detailed Application Form (DAF) in which among other things, they may be required to indicate their preferences of Forces. (Female candidates are eligible for appointment to CRPF, CISF, SSB and BSF only, they will be required to indicate their preferences for these three Forces only.)
Paper pattern:
The written examination to be conducted by Union Public Service Commission will comprise two papers: (Paper I - 2 Hours duration and Paper-II- 3 Hours duration).
Paper-I: General Ability and Intelligence - 250 Marks
This paper will be of Objective Type (Multiple Choice Questions) in which the Questions will be set in English as well as Hindi.
Paper-II: General Studies, Essay and Comprehension - 200 Marks
In this paper candidates will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi, but the medium of Précis Writing, Comprehension Components and other communications/Language Skills will be English only.
The qualified candidates will be allocated to one of the participating Forces, mentioned in the Rules as Assistant Commandant and will be subject to the relevant Act of the Force. Appointments will be made on probation for a period of 2 years provided that this period may be extended if the officer on probation has not qualified for a confirmation by passing the prescribed departmental examinations.

UPSC National Defence Academy and Naval Academy 2015 exam dates

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the dates for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy examinations 2015. The NDA NA examinations are conducted twice a year for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy and for admission to the Indian Naval Academy. Candidates selected for the Indian Naval Academy will undergo a four-year B.Tech course before joining the Executive and/or Technical Branches of the Navy, while NDA students will undergo cadet training.

Eligibility for the NDA NA Exam depends on the wing applied for. Candidates interested in the Army wing of the National Defence Academy should have completed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised education board or university in any stream. Candidates interested in the Air Force and Naval Wings of the National Defence Academy should have completed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics from a recognised education board or university in any stream.
Selection is based on performance in a written examination followed by the interview procedure by the Services Selection Board. The written test includes two parts: Mathematics and General Ability Test.
